All candidates that come through Elite Domestic Agency are U.S. citizens or are legally authorized to work in the United States. All nannies drive and speak English fluently as a native or as a second language. We also place bilingual nannies. A large number of our nannies have a university degree or minimally they are high school graduates. We have candidates of all nationalities.

A nanny will not do general household duties other than those to do with the children. Nannies are responsible for quality child care and the child-related chores around the home. This usually includes washing, ironing and cooking for kids as well as cleaning their bedrooms. Duties within a family should be negotiated at the time of employment.

On average a nanny will work eight to ten hours per day although this is negotiable and should be agreed before commencement of employment.

A nanny's salary may vary and depending on the nanny's qualifications and experience. The other factors that effect the salary are the number of hours, the number of children and the job responsibilities. Our professional nannies typically make from $15 to $20 per hour.

The live-out nanny's salary starts at $600 and could go up to $1000 net per week or higher. These rates are based on a five day week. A nanny's week usually includes 40 to 50 hours, with two days off each week. Any overtime should be compensated. The live-in nanny works longer hours, but the salary often is the same.
